Of course limited to the source computer, what’s played on the computer. This is like having the hue sync box on your TV. there should appear an icon that’s either a triangle with a square like a TV screen or a triangle with rings if airplay is available (stream to something else)įun fact: if streaming to your TV works and you have Philips Hue bulbs you can load the free hue sync app to your windows Computer and setup an entertainment zone.

I’d either go and buy things in iTunes and watch it via ATV+ App in your TV (via purchased or library tab) or try to airplay it to your TV if it supports airplay 2. Not sure on windows but on mac you can airplay to an atv what you’ve played in iTunes in the past, before they introduced ATV+ App on Mac. I was actually becoming curious to see what might be avaible through Apple Tv, but for the second time in my life I'm just having a bad experience with their stuff.

Otherwise I'll just hope my movie hits other platforms or (better yet) comes out on DVD. So, I thought I'd look for input from people who might know what to do.

and it makes me nervous, given my previous experiences. which seems really strange to me given the streaming capabilities we have now. but I can't find a store where I would make the purchase (when I log in, the website is mostly just trying to sell me Apple devices) and I'm getting the impression from my attempts to research this that I would need to actually find the iTunes website and download / install that software. Then I thought maybe I could log into my account from the computer and buy it there (which is how I normally do these things on those other platforms, anyway).

like with Prime, VUDU, and other services where you basically purchase a digital copy that you then own and can watch anytime from your account.īut when I installed the app and tried to pre-order the movie, I got a message saying I have to be using an Apple device to make purchases through the app. I had expected that I could just install the AppleTV app on my streaming stick, and then purchase the movie from the account I would set up. (even uninstalling it didn't work right, if I remember correctly). Many years ago I tried using iTunes but when I installed it, the software was hosed up, nothing worked right, and it interfered with other things on my computer. but I don't have any Apple devices and I don't actually use iTunes.Īnd I don't want to. There's a movie coming out on iTunes / AppleTV that I'm interested in.
